Bertha dear,
you look so pretty today
your pin curled hair
and that pale bow glued to your head
But Bertha,
your eyes look so distant
that electric blue isn’t doing it for you
they just look so empty
I guess your stuffing insides
aren’t enough to gain you a soul
but you hold your little teddy
like you care
and I’m sure if a spider ever crawled up your leg
you would flick it away
bertha dear,
you aren’t like my other friends
the ones with the smashed faces
or the plain ones with no spark
You could light a fire
Your pale lips give a faint smile and
God Bertha
You look so pretty today
Great imagery. I see the doll then wonder if it really is a doll. You bring it to life. Terrific writing!
